Reference

This privacy policy is provided in compliance with Chrome Web Store – Privacy Policies, which requires extensions that handle user data to post an accurate and up-to-date privacy policy that comprehensively discloses how the product collects, uses, and shares user data, and with whom such data is shared.

1. Overview

FTTHSNMS Ping Monitoring is a Chrome extension for FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network asset mapping and device monitoring. This policy describes what user data the extension handles, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.

2. Data Collection

2.1 Data Stored Locally

The extension stores the following data only on your device using the browser’s localStorage:

Data Type Description Purpose
Assets Name, type, coordinates (lat/lng), properties (capacity, splitter, IP address for Active devices, etc.) Network asset mapping and documentation
Connections Cable links between assets (from, to, length, route type) Network topology and cable documentation
Preferences Language preference, last modified timestamp User experience and data management

Storage key: ftth_planner_data

2.2 Geolocation Data

When you use the GPS button or “Get from GPS” / “Ambil dari GPS” in the form:

  • The extension requests your current location (latitude, longitude, accuracy) from the browser.
  • This data is used only to display your position on the map and/or fill in asset coordinates.
  • No location data is sent to any external server. All processing happens on your device.
  • Location is requested only when you explicitly trigger the GPS feature.

2.3 Network Requests (Host Permissions)

The extension may send HTTP/HTTPS requests to:

Destination Purpose
IP addresses you add (Perangkat Active) Ping monitoring: measure response time to check device status (online/offline)
OpenStreetMap (HTTPS) Load map tiles for the interactive map
OSRM (HTTPS) Road routing for the “Follow Road” cable feature
  • For Ping Monitoring, the extension fetches only to IP addresses that you enter when adding Active devices.
  • For map tiles and routing, requests go to public services (OpenStreetMap, OSRM). No personal data is sent to these services beyond standard HTTP request metadata (e.g., IP address, which is normal for any web request).

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Local data (assets, connections): Used solely to display and manage your FTTH network map, topology diagram, and asset list within the extension.
  • Geolocation: Used only when you request it, to show your position on the map and/or fill in coordinates for new assets.
  • Ping monitoring: Used to check whether Active devices (by IP) are reachable and to display status (online/offline) and response time.

We do not:

  • Send your assets, coordinates, or other stored data to our servers or any third-party servers.
  • Use your data for advertising, analytics, or marketing.
  • Sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with any third parties.

  • All asset and connection data remains in your browser’s localStorage on your device.
  • Geolocation data is not transmitted outside your device.
  • Ping monitoring requests go only to IP addresses you configure; we do not receive or store the results on our servers.

5. Permissions Explained

Permission Purpose
geolocation Used only when you tap the GPS button or “Get from GPS” to show your location on the map and fill in asset coordinates.
host_permissions (http:///, https:///) Required for (1) Ping Monitoring to fetch device IPs you add, (2) loading map tiles (OpenStreetMap), and (3) road routing (OSRM). IPs are user-defined; we do not access arbitrary hosts without your input.

For more detail, see the project files: Justifikasi geolocation.txt and Justifikasi Izin host.txt.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local data: Stored in your browser until you:
    • Use “Clear All Data” / “Clear Data” in the extension, or
    • Uninstall the extension, or
    • Clear your browser’s site data for the extension.
  • Geolocation: Not stored; used only at the moment you request it.
  • Ping results: Kept in memory only while the extension is open; not persisted or sent anywhere.

7. Security

  • The extension uses Chrome’s Content Security Policy to restrict script sources.
  • No sensitive data is transmitted over the network except:
    • Ping requests to IPs you configure (for monitoring), and
    • Map tiles and routing requests to OpenStreetMap and OSRM (standard web requests).

8. Children’s Privacy

This extension is intended for professional use (network technicians, ISPs, contractors). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through this extension, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
